Osborne Signatory to The Climate Pledge

Osborne has become a signatory of the Climate Pledge. The Climate Pledge is a call to businesses and organizations to take collective action on the world’s greatest crisis and to work together to build towards a safe and healthy planet for the next generations.  By signing the pledge Osborne has committed to net zero carbon emissions (all scopes) by 2040.

Osborne Group Chief Executive Dave Smith commented “With the built environment contributing 40% of global carbon emissions and the need to cut emissions by half by 2030, the urgent reduction of carbon is vital. Achieving net zero carbon is a priority for Osborne, both in managing our own operational carbon and progressively developing innovative lower carbon offsite solutions such as Flexihomes, InForm and Low-rise student town houses. “

The Climate Pledge is a commitment to be net-zero carbon by 2040 that forms a cross-sector community of companies and organizations, working together to crack the climate crisis and solve the challenges of decarbonizing our economy.

The Climate Pledge was co-founded by Amazon and Global Optimism in 2019 and calls on signatories to be net-zero carbon across their operations by 2040.

Companies and organizations that sign the Pledge commit to three areas of action

To measure and report greenhouse gas emissions on a regular basis

Implement decarbonization strategies in line with the Paris Agreement through real business changes and innovations, including efficiency improvements, renewable energy, materials reductions, and other carbon emission elimination strategies

Neutralize any remaining emissions with additional, quantifiable, real, permanent, and socially beneficial offsets to achieve net-zero annual carbon emissions by 2040.

Osborne is proud to be a signatory of The Climate Pledge.
