Osborne helps Arun’s Chilgrove House celebrate its birthday

A sunny Spring Saturday, Osborne supported Chilgrove House Community Hub in Wick, Littlehampton, to celebrate its first birthday in style.

During its first year, the Hub has helped to build strong community cohesion, a place where everyone is made to feel welcome and connected. Over the past year, the Hub has provided a range of services to support the local community, including a community fridge, fitness classes, along with wellbeing activities for children and adults.

The Hub’s one-year birthday party was organised by Hub Manager, Arun District Council Officer, Belinda, along with the help of community volunteers. With live music, a DJ, a bouncy castle, and a magician, there was lots for the community to enjoy and celebrate a busy first year.

Osborne Property Services Social Value Manager, Neal, and local volunteer Denise hosted a busy ice cream stand where excited young customers could use their tickets to redeem against an array of delicious ice creams with a selection of extra toppings.

The celebration was an opportunity to reflect on the Community Hubs’ success in helping to develop a more positive and supportive community.

Belinda Brighton, Community Engagement Officer, Arun District Council commented: “Chilgrove would like to thank Osborne for their generosity at our first birthday party, we were celebrating our first year of engagement with the community of Wick. We had a tremendous turn out with excess of over 100 people, Thank you for your continued support in our community, which is greatly appreciated.”

Jo Fletcher, Head of Engagement, Osborne Property Services commented: “Community Hubs are multi-purpose, providing a range of activities and services that are used by lots of different people. Input from the community means that service is shaped to suit local needs often with the support of volunteers. Seeing the success of Chilgrove Community Hub in its first year is so encouraging and we look forward to continuing our support into year two and beyond.”
