Osborne brings a little afternoon fun to Dacorum Borough Council’s Housing Schemes

Supporting housing schemes with regular wellbeing initiatives can have numerous benefits as these iniatives brings people together.

Osborne teamed up with Dacorum Borough Council and Housing Lead Officer, Andrew Tippen, to provide an afternoon of fun and socialising for the residents of Evelyn Sharp House, Hemel Hempstead.

Andrew, who oversees nine housing schemes across Hemel Hempstead, regularly organises social events to improve the quality of life for its’ residents. On this occasion, residents from neighbouring Belswains Green Housing Scheme were invited to join in the fun, spending the day together.

A selection of savouries and cakes made up the afternoon tea experience, provided by Osborne, as Lead Officer Andrew, took the role of Quiz Master and tossed a little trivia to the afternoon festivities. The afternoon tea was organised to ensure that residents were able to socialise for longer, which was especially appreciated by those from Belswains Green Housing Scheme who struggle with space to host community events.

The event was a great success and received positive feedback from Housing Support Officers. Neighbours had a lovely time and were grateful for the opportunity to come together and enjoy each other’s company.

Jo Fletcher, Head of Engagement commented: We actively support initiatives that promote socialisation and community cohesion within our communities as we see first hand the positive impact they have on wellbeing.  Old and new friendships are formed combatting loneliness and isolation, allowing people to feel part of their community’.

‘Thank you so much for your support. It was a lovely afternoon.’
