Osborne is building for our future

Osborne Property Services is investing in its people to ensure that they have their teams, in the right place, at the right time, skilled to deliver against future works.

The construction industry has demonstrated continual growth since the return of the pandemic with an estimated 217,000 additional workers required by 2025 to meet the demand. This shortage will continue to grow in line with the government’s commitment set in June 2019, to be net zero by 2050.  With a further two additional interim targets set in 2021, to run a net zero power system and reduce emissions by 78% by 2035.

Investment began with the launch of the Workforce Programme designed to develop the expertise within existing teams, through mapping career progression and opportunities for individual journeys.

To meet the needs of the retrofit challenge, we have partnered with strategic training providers to include the Retrofit Academy and Langley College, where teams have been empowered and gained skills from a range of training programmes.

Vicky Fordham-Lewis commented ‘We recognise that there is still an awful lot to be done to meet the retrofit challenge and our efforts to create opportunities for our people, complements this journey.  Through investment in training, we have doubled our Carbon Neutral Solutions Team and achieved PAS2035 and TrustMark membership.

I believe that as we continue to collaborate with strategic partners, scalability, resource and supply chain can be unlocked to meet UK’s Net Zero targets for 2050.
