Community Engagement & Investment
As a family-run business, Osborne has always been committed to supporting and investing in the communities we serve. Our commitment to creating a positive legacy predates and is fully in line with the objectives of the Social Value Act.
Our social value framework is based on the British Standards (ISO 26000) for Social Responsibility and includes our Community Investment Policy, Goals & Strategies and Action Plan structure. The framework comprises seven areas: community involvement, social investment, education and culture, employment and skills, health, wealth and income creation, and technology.
For our long-term partnerships, we use this framework to align investment with our customers’ wider strategic priorities. Community investment plans are created in collaboration with our customers and their customers to ensure that all initiatives route investment into the right places.
Each legacy plan specifically details our commitments and the measurable benefits we will deliver. Plans are refreshed at least annually to ensure they remain relevant and follow best practice guidance. Beyond our daily community activities, each staff member is given a development day to use in local community and charity activities.

We deliver better services and greater satisfaction levels for customers and their resident customers through a local employment base. Our wider approach to community investment features joined up plans for recruitment, job opportunities, training and work experience placements. The resulting win-win outcomes help our customers meet their obligations under the Social Value Act 2013.
Under the umbrella of long-term community investment we help our customers deliver their commitments under the Social Value Act to improve the social, economic and environmental wellbeing of their resident customers and communities. Beyond our daily community activities, each staff member is given a development day to use in local community and charity activities.

Through every partnership we work collaboratively with our customers and their resident customers to determine the social value and community investment initiatives that will make the biggest difference.
