Committed to creating opportunities within the communities we work with, our Community Investment Team actively engages with schools, colleges and young people through a proactive, hands-on approach which builds and maintains relationships.
This approach has been essential in allowing us to talk to young people from different backgrounds and abilities, making them aware of the wide range of opportunities available within the construction and property sectors.
In 2016/17 we delivered 30 employability sessions with our community partners including mock interviews, CV guidance and skills workshops, helping young people build confidence whilst allowing them to ask questions of employers such as what they look for in our new recruits.
Our team also hosted 14 work experience placements across trades and office positions. Will, a young man with Asperger’s Syndrome who joined us through a local charity, has since been offered a full-time job and he is now enrolled on a Maintenance Operations Apprenticeship via Waltham Forest College.
