ORR Deadline met on Reading 10 Car Platform Extensions at 9 stations

Network Rail
££25m (excluding AfA and Substation)

“The Reading 10 Car project bears no resemblance to previous platform extension projects”
Stuart Kistruck, Acting Wessex Route Managing Director

With longer 10 car trains operating on the Reading to London Waterloo route, platform extensions at 9 stations were needed to maintain safe, efficient flow for passengers. The Office of Rail and Road set a control period date of 13th May 2017 for completion which left just a 13 month construction period.
