Osborne Completes Key Roadworks Early

Osborne has completed essential repairs to the A414 Napsbury Lane Bridge in St Albans, Hertfordshire, ahead of schedule, future proofing the bridge’s operation.

Being the sole supplier and under the Hertfordshire Framework, Osborne removed and replaced the corroded reinforcement and concrete from the bridge, treating the structure to counter any future problems caused by pollution and road salt.

Work started in July and was originally scheduled to run for sixteen weeks with a mix of daytime and overnight restrictions.

Terry Douris, Cabinet Member for Hertfordshire Highways said: “We were delighted that the essential bridge repairs were completed on schedule and the carriageway was re-opened early.  This is good news for anyone who regularly uses this stretch of road, which is a key part of Hertfordshire’s road network. This scheme has formed part of Hertfordshire County Council’s ongoing commitment to maintain and improve our roads.”

Osborne Framework Manager, David Landeryou, said: “Delivering the Napsbury Lane project ahead of schedule and under budget is a great result for Osborne, the council and the local community.”
