Osborne Delivers Under Manchester Motorway Contract

Osborne has begun work to deliver the first surveys on the Manchester motorway network under the CDF (Collaborative Delivery Framework) for Highways England.

Osborne was awarded the contract to deliver the asset condition surveys on the M56 and M60 motorways, near Manchester, during the summer. The £2.5million project will see the team deliver topographical, drainage, pavement, duct and geotechnical surveys ahead of the next wave of ‘Smarter Motorway’ works, where the hard shoulder is removed and active traffic management techniques are used to improve traffic flow.

Work commenced this autumn and will be completed in early 2016, helping Highways England to deliver their five year programme.

Chris Charnley, Osborne Project Manager explained: “These survey works continue Osborne’s strong relationship with Highways England, putting us in an excellent position to bid for forthcoming survey packages on the Smart Motorway Programme.”
