Re-homed and re-newed

Osborne is rehoming the statue of Terence Cuneo from its original place outside Waterloo Railway Station to Chatham in Kent.

The statue of the British artist, known for his 1953 Coronation painting, is being relocated to the Royal Engineers Brompton Barracks at Chatham, where it will be refurbished.

Following works to its steel support frame, the statue will then be re-erected here before its official unveiling.

The statue celebrates the work of Terence Cuneo, who died in 1996, and was known not only for his work as the official Coronation artist and military images, but also for often including a mouse hidden within his paintings.  At the foot of the statue, a small mouse can be found peeking from beneath a book.
