Civic Construction and Infrastructure
Our combination of construction, engineering and property management gives our customers a seamless service for any scale of civic project; from the restoration of heritage and listed buildings, modernisation of theatres and amenities, through to brand new community developments,
As an independent family business we are in tune with the needs of a community, as well as those commissioning the work on their behalf. Common in all of these projects is our commitment and ability to enhance the quality of facilities for everyone in the local community.
Our more joined up and collaborative approach with our customers helps mitigate risk, improve time and cost predictability and increase communication. This results in greater stakeholder control and management.
Completed projects are as diverse as community theatres, town halls, police and fire stations, one stop shops for council services, offices, bridges and parks. Common in all these projects is the ability to work closely with the authorities’ agendas to enhance the quality of facilities for everyone in their local community.
As an independent family business we can provide a greater degree of flexibility and understanding of the needs of a community.
Modernisation & Reuse
Modernisation and reuse in civic buildings often involves managing projects that support new ways of working or new uses for buildings that are redundant, underused or inefficient to operate. Delivering best value comes from understanding the desired outcomes and then developing the optimum construction solutions through collaboration and innovation.
Through creativity and planning, occupied and operational premises can continue to function well during the improvement works with the minimum of disruption.
Community, Sport & Leisure
Buildings for community use are an essential part of the wellbeing agenda that strives for active, healthy and connected communities. Osborne has the skills to deliver these specialist buildings and public places, often working in complex occupied environments and with multiple stakeholders.
Our experience ranges from local community centres to regional theatre and music venues. Developments may combine retail, restaurant, health and education uses and our communication and management skills will support project teams in delivering the right construction solutions to meet the expectations of users.
We have considerable experience in renovating and converting listed buildings and working in conservation areas. Our managers, consultants and supply chain understand the challenge of managing change in heritage buildings. As well as four phases of modernisation works at the grade II listed Hackney Town Hall, we have also worked on the grade II listed Chichester Festival Theatre and on three listed buildings for Cadogan Estates.
