Portfield, Chichester

A new low density student village on the edge of Chichester.

Approximate GDV: £20 million

Planning permission has been granted to transform a disused brownfield site at Portsfield Trading Estate into a 521 bed high quality en-suite accommodation aimed at the direct let market.

The scheme fulfils the local need to reduce pressure on the existing housing stock. The scale, massing and design of the development is  respectful of the location with low rise, low density provision of nine 2-3 storey buildings within a landscaped ‘village square’ setting around a central student hub.

With planning consent secured in principle, the detailed design is progressing with construction due to start. The buildings will facilitate social interaction between students, through the inclusion of generous kitchen/dining rooms with soft seating areas for socialising or gaming. There will be a reception area with post and parcel collection, well designed student common facilities, landscaped grounds with outside seating and a BBQ area for use by the students.
